Relationship Counselling in Buckhurst Hill
Couples counselling is my speciality, together with marriage guidance and sex therapy. I also welcome people who want individual counselling, counsellors looking for supervision and supervisors who require consultation on their supervision practice.
Talking freely, being listened to and listening to yourself — and your partner if you’re coming to therapy together — is therapeutic in itself.
When to come?
Studies have shown that a large factor in successful counselling is to do with the relationship between the client or clients and the counsellor. Taking the plunge to talk to a complete stranger can be daunting. Sometimes the idea of what will happen if you come with your partner for couple counselling seems risky.
The first session is an assessment for all of us. We explore what has brought you, what the problems are and the context, and what you are hoping to get out of counselling. I then let you know how I think I can help and you decide if this is right for you.
If you feel that we connect and you have hope and confidence that is a good sign, but if you feel doubtful then there is no commitment to continue.
I am a registered and accredited member of:
- British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
- College of Sexual and Relationship Therapy
and adhere to their Code of Ethics.
